Katelyn + Matt

Engagement

According to Alexander Graham Bell “before anything else, preparations I the key to success.”  Normally when we meet our couples, they’re in the early stages of planning.  This was not the case when we sat down with Katelyn and Matt.  At the time they became an Off the Film couple, we were the last major vendor they needed to book. When we initially met with this cute couple, they had been engaged for over a year and still have close to another year before they become husband and wife.  Katelyn and Matt decided they did not need a speedy wedding but rather enjoy taking their time to get exactly what they want.  Which also included buying their first home together.

Matt had planned the perfect proposal… a nice dinner at the Incline Public House and with the Cincinnati Skyline in the background, he would ask Katelyn to become his wife.  Well… life never goes as planned.  Right before their big date, Matt was told a story of the same proposal by people they knew.

Wanting to keep her proposal unique, matt went to Plan B.  During an evening at the Cincinnati Zoo’s Festival of Lights, Matt asked Katelyn to marry him and of course she said yes!  Otherwise… there wouldn’t be a reason for engagement photos or wedding planning.

Wanting a little bit of an urban feel and close to the river, we headed downtown Cincinnati.  The day wasn’t as warm as we had hoped but that did not stop these two from being in love!  Together we strolled around OTR near Findlay Market.

Throughout their session, we would stop to allow the couple to get a few snaps with Katelyn’s Polaroid camera!  She has intention of using the images as part of her reception centerpieces.  (We hope they turned out!)

Smale Park overlooks the Ohio River into Covington and makes an amazing place stop for engagement photos.  As the weather was starting to look a little rainy and a little on the cold side, the park was practically empty.  It was like we had the entire place to ourselves!

One simple request we had from Katelyn and Matt regarding their engagement photos… they wanted to incorporate the Cincinnati Skyline.  In order to get this view, we had to head across the river to Kentucky.

The sun was setting quickly, and rain was on the horizon as we walked onto the Singing Bridge (aka the Suspension Bridge).  We were only able to get a couple quick snaps as the Katelyn and Matt were ready to grab dinner and warm up!  Plus… it was starting to sprinkle.

Katelyn and Matt, we had a great time during your engagement session.  Thanks for indulging in our random locations.  In just a little under 6 months, we will get to hang out again at your September wedding!  You two will look amazing and we can’t wait!

Have a Great Day,

Nicole & Ryan
