The streets of Edinburgh, Scotland, were serene just after sunrise. As wedding photographers, we set out with a dream: to capture a love story while traveling. Fortunately, that dream came true when we connected with Sarah and Ed online.

Sarah and Ed were exploring Scotland at the same time we were. Therefore, they graciously agreed to meet us early at St Giles’ Cathedral. The early morning session was perfect—indeed, the streets were mostly empty, free of tourists and parishioners. This made our destination portrait session in Edinburgh all the more special.

Their story began in the late 80s when they met as Civil War reenactors. With a shared passion for genealogy and history, it was no surprise that their wedding also embraced a Civil War theme. Over the years, their connection has only deepened. They have been each other’s rock through life’s ups and downs, accepting both strengths and “flaws” with unwavering love.

As they traveled through Scotland, Sarah and Ed were excited to celebrate their marriage with an anniversary session. This special destination portrait session marked nearly 30 years of their journey together—a beautiful testament to their love and dedication.
