Bree + Aaron | Ft. Mitchell Kentucky Summer Wedding

Wedding

Great things take time… and these two fun souls took their time becoming husband and wife. This move ONLY took 10 years!!! While planning their big day, Bree and Aaron did it 100% in their own style. These two became husband and wife surrounded by their children, family, and friends in the outskirts of Cincinnati at one of their favorite spots in the entire world!

Bree and Aaron met through work, but began dating a few years later. Marriage was a topic of discussion, but neither were in a rush. However, this past winter Aaron had a surprise up his sleeve. When the couple were celebrating Christmas with their children and grandson, everyone was chatting away about a trip to Vegas, when out of nowhere, Aaron took a knee with a ring in hand. Spoiler alert but Bree said yes… otherwise, this blog would not exist! The best part of their proposal, it was a complete surprise from a man not known for keeping surprises.

Self described hermits, except during swim season, Bree ad Aaron chose their favorite summer hang out to tied the knot, the Brookwood Swim Club. As they planned their wedding, what they truly wanted was a night of enjoyment and celebration, without all the typical formalities. They choose instead to create a laid back environment with college football on all the TVs, a DJ for the dancers, corn-hole, swimming, and a photo-booth to keep everyone entertained… not to mention a fully stocked bar!

The couple choose to kick off the celebrations with having “flower dudes” hand out adult beverages as they walked down the aisle! Quickly the guests livened up and were more than willing to take a cold beverage!

Bree chose to have her only son walk her down the aisle to her hubby who was holding their grandson. The little guy was not having it and is definitely a grandpa’s boy!!! After the ceremony, Aaron apologized to Bree for having him in his arms during this special moment, but all she had to say was this was their life in the most loving/warm tone possible. The fact her grandson was in his arms did not bother her one bit. If nothing else, it just made the day even more them!

When Bree and Aaron asked their wedding party to be apart of their day, they did so by “icing” them. Now, if you’re anything like us, you have no clue what icing is…. basically it is when you surprise someone with a Smirnoff Ice they have to chug. Well… the bridal party had their paybacks on the wedding day. They asked the “flower dudes” to ice the couple at the start of their ceremony! Laughing and accepting the payback, Bree and Aaron drank their Smirnoff ices like champs with only one small complaint, they had hoped for a cold drink on this humid summer Kentucky day.

30 days before their “I Dos”, Bree and Aaron buried a bottle of bourbon upside down, a common southern tradition. This tradition is to bring good fortune to the married couple and ensure the rain stays on on their special day. So far, the part of the tradition came to fruition as the rain showing on the radar for their day earlier in the week moved out of the area! Here is to hoping the other part comes true for this fun couple.

Aaron is a huge Office (the TV show) fan, so as a surprise, Bree arranged for the DJ to play the song from Jim and Pam’s wedding ceremony as they stopped at then of the aisle. After sharing a quick kiss, the two began to dance and celebrate their newly found status as husband and wife! Their bridal party also danced their way back down the aisle in tribute to the show!

Even though the couple chose fun over formalities, these two still shared a first dance together!

A wedding at a pool on a hot summer day would not be complete without at least one member of the bridal party taking a dive into the water!

Bree and Aaron, thank you so much for allowing us to capture your wedding day! We’re glad our paths collided and your day was beyond enjoyable. We hope nothing but the best for you two in the future. Your love for each other was evident in all the sweet remarks throughout the day, side glances, and the overall fun you had together! Also, we can’t wait to hang out to swim club next summer.

Welcome to the married kids club,

Nicole & Ryan
