Enjoy the Holidays

Planning Tips

In just 2 short days it will be Thanksgiving?! WHERE HAS THIS YEAR GONE! We all know that once Thanksgiving arrives, the rest of the year will 􀂀y by while we attend Holiday Parties, New Year Celebrations, and Christmas activities. There are so many amazing things to do in Cincinnati this time of the year! The holiday season is our favorite time of the year because it is all about family and friends. We love celebrating and gathering together with everyone. It forces us to take time out of our busy life, sit down and relax!

Our Tuesday Tips will be a little different this week. We understand planning a wedding is very important, but ensuring your relationships are given the appropriate attention is way more important. These are our 4 tips for wedding planning during the holiday season.

  1. Take a Break from planning. Take that wonderfully organized wedding planning book and put it away! Don’t think about seating arrangements or center pieces. Allow your mind sometime to decompress.
  2. Check in on your family and friends lives. While planning a wedding, it is too easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of planning. During the holidays, since you’re taking a break from planning, be sure to ask friends and family how they are doing. Discuss the wonderful things going on in their lives. You may not have notice how much your life revolves around you during this season of your life and showing genuine interest in what’s going on will only make they happy to continue to hear about your wedding and help out when they can.
  3. Schedule a date night. During wedding planning, it’s very easy to get caught up with the decisions and the financial part. Instead of talking about what needs to be done, choose to plan a date night with your fiance! Nothing fancy… just personal time together… Oh and remember, there should not be any wedding talk (that would defeat the whole purpose of the date night)!
  4. Treat yourself. Do something special for yourself! It can be as simple as a bubble bath with a new bath bomb or buy that shirt you’ve had your eye on for a few months! If you really want splurge… schedule yourself an hour-long deep tissue massage!! Taking care of your personal well being (mentally and physically) will just make you on your A Game once you start planning again.

Unless you are planning to tie the knot in the early new, taking a step away from the beautiful chaos know as wedding planning will only allow you to enjoy the process. Trying to do too much over the holidays will only make the time miserable. Remember there is nothing wrong with taking time to enjoy life!

Happy Thanksgiving!
