Headed to St. Augustine Florida, Zoe and Gunner had decided to bypass a vacation tradition… getting an old time photo together. As they were enjoying their time in the warm Florida weather, Gunner had changed his mind and decided he wanted to get their traditional photo together. Not as put together as she would have liked, Zoe agreed.
During their portrait time, the photographer had taken the normal props away and counted to three. When Zoe glanced over at her man, Gunner was getting down on one knee. Gunner had arranged the entire proposal the day before and was relieved when she had agreed to get their photos done.Their proposal was almost 3.5 years after they met in college and became friends. Having mutual friends dating and the same break between classes allowed them to have an opportunity to hang out every week. Eventually, their friendship moved into dating and dating moved into getting engaged!
From our first emails back and forth to their engagement session, Zoe and Gunner were just the cutest couple. Not to mention, just genuinely good people! Gunner is a local teacher who specializes in teaching children with special needs. (Talk about the patience of a saint!) Anytime we’ve chatted with Zoe about her life, her family has been a HUGE priority and she wants to be the best example for her younger siblings as possible.
Zoe and Gunner craved some fall color in their engagement session. Our original intentions was to go to a pumpkin patch, but Zoe just wasn’t feeling the looks of anything local, so we decided Sharon Woods. Between the trees and the waterfall, it was a stunning backdrop for their photos. We wanted some signs of fall, but well, the leaves were pretty much fallen off the trees. Even if there were no fall leaves left, Sharon Woods in the northern part of Cincinnati was a stunning backdrop for their photos!
After getting to know them a little at our meeting, it was no surprise their engagement session was a blast. Zoe and Gunner were pretty much up for just about anything we asked them to do! Don’t believe us…. Well there was a leaf fight, they climb into a small opening of trees and down the side of hill to get photos in front of a rock wall. They did ALL of this with huge smiles on their faces and ZERO complaints.
During their engagement session at Sharon Woods, they were joined by their sweet puppy, Lucy. Totally their baby! We love the fact they found a coordinating jacket for her!
Zoe and Gunner, we are blessed to have met you two and are beyond excited to capture your wedding. Your engagement session was so much fun and we can only image how your day will turn out. Lucy was so well behaved and just the cutest lil puppy!
Much Love,
Nicole & Ryan
Special thanks to Zoe’s younger brother, RJ, for walking around with Lucy as needed!
