One of the greatest joys of photographing weddings are how different every single wedding day turns out. Some days are filled with constant laughter. Some days are more reserved and quiet. Some days are full of emotions and happy tears. Just a few short days ago, we were at Aston Oaks Golf Club for Cheyenne and Kyle’s nuptials… and their day was a wonderful mix of emotions and laughter (our absolute fave combination.)
Standing by their sides, both Cheyenne and Kyle were surrounded by their family and close friends. The lovely ladies and the bride started their day at the couple’s house they had just purchased a few months prior whereas the guys were right around the corner at Kyle’s parents place. Those who are familiar with how the dynamics of the west side of Cincinnati understand how “west side” Cheyenne and Kyle truly are by buying a place within a couple blocks of a parent’s residence. Those who are not true west siders just won’t understand how normal this is.
Sticking with the west sider life of Cincinnati, Cheyenne and Kyle opted for an all in one venue for their wedding day. Aston Oaks Golf Club is a beautiful hidden gem in Green Township. The ceremony space is surrounded by green grass and tall trees, with a small waterfall coming out of the hillside… all viewable from any guest chair surrounding the white gazebo adorn with vibrant hanging flower baskets.
Unlike all of our previous weddings for the year, their day was full of bright sunshine with light cloud coverage… plus a very warm temperature. Cheyenne and Kyle shared a First Look in between the ceremony and reception space. As Cheyenne approached her soon to be husband, her nerves and excitement began to show. Savoring the last few moments before the craziness of the day ensued, Cheyenne stood a mere foot from her fiancé, trying to calm her nerves. Slowly, she placed her hand on Kyles shoulder. When Kyle saw her, he was overwhelmed with tears of joy. Softly, he spoke simple, yet touching words. “I can’t stop looking at you.” The two shared tears of joy, along with smiles and laughter. Kyle even asked Cheyenne to twirl from him slowly, as he held her hand, to get a full view of her bridal look. We can confidently say… he was blown away by the beauty of his bride to be!
One perk of being on a golf course for your wedding… going for a ride in golf carts! The full bridal party loaded into golf carts and we drove to a few spots, including a beautiful overlook of the Ohio River into Kentucky. The bridal party kept things very entertaining and help keep Cheyenne and Kyle’s nerves under control!
As the ceremony was about the begin, the non-stop rain of spring 2019 had to make its appearance. Mother nature just couldn’t let us have a rain free Saturday. Thankfully, it was a quick rain (and not too heavy). Once it passed (just as quickly as it came), chairs were immediately dried off and the guest were reseated.
Kyle walked up the aisle to his place at the front of the guest, and as the bridal party made their way down the small hill of the venue, his emotions began to take ahold of him. Multiple times he had to pull out his handkerchief to wipe the tears from his eyes.
Kyle was not the only one overtook with emotions. During her walk down the long aisle, Cheyenne went from a smile to trying to calm her nerves. To help, her father kept reassuring her and reminding her to breath as he escorted her toward the love of her life.
Cheyenne and Kyle opted to share their own vows. The words they spoke were ones of love, respect, and admiration for each other. There was laughter. There were smiles. There were tears. But at the end, there were words spoken from their hearts.
As husband and wife, Kyle and Cheyenne, began their marriage off right… celebrating with their family and friends! Even during their celebration, the emotions and laughter followed, as the best man, maid of honor and matron of honor spoke loving words of encouragement for the couple’s future together. Plus… the Matron of Honor who happened to be Kyle’s sister shared a few good stories of him as child (which may or may not have included dressing him up a girl). Some of the sweetest words spoke included Kyle’s sister explaining how they often did not see eye to eye throughout their childhood and even into adult life, but she agreed with his decision to marry Cheyenne. This is one time in their lives they saw things eye to eye.
As the formalities of the evening ended, the dance floor was opened up with a very special song… for a very special guy, Wyatt (Cheyenne’s nephew). The song they choose was Baby Shark! (Confession time… this was the first time Nicole had ever heard the actual song). The remainder of the evening was fill with tons of celebration!
Cheyenne and Kyle, we hope you’re enjoying your time in Disney on your honeymoon! Your day was amazing. Everyone who surrounded you on your wedding day made us feel as part of the family. We had the pleasure of watching your love story from a unique perspective and witnessed the intense and deep love you have for one another! Congratulations on this new phase of life and we’re excited to see what the future holds for your new legacy!
