Alantis + Jordan

Wedding

A tale as old as time… falling in love! Just a little over of a month ago, we had the pleasure of capturing a princess marrying her price charming! Alantis and Jordan confessed their love for one another in a traditional church ceremony in Covington Kentucky but with a slight twist… a Beauty and the Beast service!Alantis is the niece of Nicole’s Sister in Law and we were honored when she chose us as their wedding photographers. Our adventure began early on in their wedding planning process… actually before there was a need for wedding planning when Nicole (not so stealthy) captured their proposal at Barnes and Noble at Newport on the Levee.  (Our next adventure with this couple we adventured to The Rook and Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati for their engagement session.  Then just shy of a month before the big day, Laura (Nicole’s SIL) hosted a Little Mermaid inspired bridal shower at the Party Place and of course, Nicole made it a point to capture the day!  After following along through their entire wedding planning adventure and hears bits of the wedding planning, we were excited to see how their day would unfold.

Their wedding day did not start out like a typical wedding day for any of us as it was the 2nd part of our first double header weekend. Alantis and Jordan hosted an early afternoon wedding, so the day started a little earlier than normal. Hello Caffeine!

Before we arrive at a wedding, we spend our car ride together going over the game plan for the day (most likely for the 100th time as Nicole can be a little OCD). This time, Ryan was headed in the opposite direction as Nicole and Devon. The guys started their day out at Comics2Games for Free Comic Book Day.  Even his own wedding wouldn’t stop Jordan for enjoying this once a year day.

Laura our sister in law… she’s just a beautiful woman!

Alantis surrounded by her ladies to help her get ready for her prince charming!

Pearls are a timeless classic for any traditional bride.

These are the small moments that make amazing heirlooms! Mother of the Bride helping her only daughter put on final touches for her walk down the aisle.

Alantis and Jordan opted for a more traditional wedding day by getting married in Jordan’s mother’s church Wesley United Methodist Church. Jodan’s grandmother, Helen, ministered their service… of course referencing the Beauty and the Beast story line along the way.

THIS CEILING was jaw dropping!

The couple made the ceremony their own and a little less traditional by writing their own vows to one another! There were laughs, smiles, and tears to accompany those heartfelt words.

Oppose to a unity candle, the couple opted to build a unity cross during their ceremony and had Josh (her brother) explain the how the parts are vital to any relationship.

The moment when everyone else just disappears… even if it’s for just a moment.

The weather was a little on the sketchy side right after the ceremony… luckily, they had a great wedding party who were willing to hang out with us in the drizzle!

The adorable flower girl and ring bearer!

Classic and traditional… Rose bouquets!

Keeping with the flow of making it their own day, the couple held a dessert only reception at Lookout Heights Civic Club. The hall was decorated with Beauty and the Beast inspired centerpieces, hand made just for the big day by the bride’s mother! Alantis’ favorite author, Jane Austin, was part of her day as the books spread out on the table included some of her favorite novels. Even Chip and Mrs. Potts made an appearance.

The dessert tower was made by the bride’s mother, filled with homemade brownies!

Every couple has a first dance moment… the moment when the world fades away… the moment when it’s only the love and you… the moment when nothing else matters.

One proud momma!

He’s so excited for baby girl.

As traditional as the day, another “nontraditional” moment… a cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for the non-cake couple!

Toast offer an opportunity to hear how much their closest friends care for their relationship and all the funny stories they have to share.

Can you spot Nicole?

As traditional as their day was, Alantis and Jordan chose an nontraditional path for their wedding day portraits. Having an afternoon wedding, the couple wanted photos closer to sunset. Therefore, we took a “lunch break” and met up again at Devou Park after their reception.

Assuming the Singing Bridge (aka The Roebling Bridge) it was still closed for repairs, we raced over to attempt to beat the sunset. When we arrived, the bridge was reopened a few months early. To top it off… the sun was dipping lower in the sky quickly but leaving a beautiful pink sky. Our plans changed slightly as we choose to use the lit-up Cincinnati Skyline as our backdrop! The best part… Alantis and Jordan received so many compliments of how stunning they looked by people who passed by.

Adorning a bouquet of red roses from Annabelle’s Flower Shop was a broach as her something borrowed.

Ok… maybe we attempted fate just a bit and managed to capture a photo in front of the singing bridge! (Thankfully, no cars were coming either way as we were walking back to our car).

The day had a bit of magic surround it and we want to thank Alantis and Jordan for trusting us! Your day was special and filled with plenty of laughs! You captured your personalities perfectly! Marriage is a journey and not always a fairy tale but it’s worth every hard moment. Enjoy your happily ever after and we’re exciting about all the amazing things going on in your lives this year!

Have a Fantastic Day,

Nicole and Ryan
