Emily & Lucas

Wedding

Beautiful weather. Beautiful bride. Beautiful wedding. What more could we ask for this past Saturday when we were able to capture Emily and Lucas’ wedding day?!  After their Engagement Session, we knew that they were a perfect OTF couple. Lucas and Ryan, of course, hit it o and totally nerded out together (Hello Zelda fanboys!)

Emily and Lucas attended Wilmington College together. After college, Lucas relocated from Columbus to Cincinnati to be with Emily. He was sharing a house with her brothers, so it was only natural that they were standing with him on this important day. Emily and Lucas postponed their honeymoon to this fall where they will be celebrating the joining of their fun and playful personalities at Disneyworld.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Emily and Lucas said their vows at Westwood United Methodist Church (Emily walked down the aisle in a stunning Maggie Sottero dress imbedded with beautiful crystals and layers of lace. Lucas couldn’t help smiling as his wife joined him at the altar. The couple had a sweet and traditional Christian ceremony.

Emily’s sister helped with the final touches of her dress while he husband to be read a private love letter she wrote for him to read before the ceremony.

Emily and Lucas opted to have a First Look for before their ceremony. Honestly, we love this time! The emotions are so raw and the couples stress melts away!

And of course.. we took time to capture a few quick portraits outside the church before the big I DOs!

How excited are we to have captured their pure happiness during their ceremony!

During their engagement session, we took a Lucas’ first ferry ride on the Anderson Ferry.  Needless to say, we were super stoked when this awesome couple agreed to rent out the Little Boone of Anderson Ferry for a private ride. Yay! We got to capture their Bride and Groom portraits with just the 4 of us on the boat!!!! Thank you for beautiful blue sky and alone time.

After their private boat ride, we squeezed in a few moments with their closest friends! The ladies and gents were an absolute blast to work with!

Our night with this great couple, ended at The Farm reception hall. The couple had an amazing party! Lucas made sure he grabbed his beautiful wife for EVERY slow song and spent time with her on the dance floor. Besides slow songs, Lucas demonstrated his amazing dancing skills on the dance floor. WOW!  Everyone was amazed and impressed. We cannot say how AWESOME it was to have a very energetic groom.

This entry table was gorgeous!

How beautiful is this cake created by Diane’s Cake, Candy and Cookies!

During their first dance, Emily and Lucas were surround by bubbles. There is always that moment when the world melts away and it’s just the two of them.

Not to mention the wide range of emotions that follow during the for the Father-Daughter dance and the Mother-Son dance.

YES! A donut wall filled with Krispy Kreme donuts! Just a side note, all our meetings with Emily and her mom, Lori, were held at Dunkin Donuts… Can you see a theme?!

Summer sunsets are always late… and it in this case it was around 9pm… We were able to sneak away around dusk to capture a few portraits of the bride and groom! We just love this light!!

Emily and her ladies carried stunning bouquets created by Lutz Flowers.

As the night progressed, the energy of the reception picked up! Lucas had some AMAZING dance moves on the dance floor!

As the night came to an end, Emily’s mom had one last surprise for the couple… She brought sparklers for a formal exit!

Emily and Lucas… thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family for your wedding day. We wish you nothing but happiness and love.

Have an amazing day!
