Jillian + Mark

Wedding

Well hello our friends!  It’s been a while since we’ve posted… life has been a whirlwind of excitement (and stress… we never knew the kids has SO many Legos)!  Our month kicked off with a double header wedding weekend, beginning with Jill and Marks rustic wedding down in Dry Ridge, Kentucky at The Josephina.  Talk about a fantastic weekend!

We knew we would be capturing their wedding day, even before they did… just needed the official proposal to happen.  Julie, mother of the groom, worked closely with Ryan and basically “pre-hired” us for when her son, Mark, would propose.  (Not to mention, when there was a date change… we were consulted to confirm we would still be available).

Fast forward about a year and it finally happened!  Mark and Jill went on one of their favorite pastimes together, a nature hike at Devou Park.  Mark collected wild flowers along the way and told Jill they would make a beautiful bridal bouquet and it was no surprise Jill walked down the aisle with a stunning bouquet of wildflowers by Swan Florist.  If you would love to relive their engagement photos… check out the link here!

The reality of the day struck Jillian like a wall of bricks! Her nerves and stress began getting the best of her… but her sister was there to the reassure her as she provided a massage and WINE!

Mark prepped for his big walk just a few hundred feet away from his future bride.

This was  request from Mark’s mother… they boys had a similar one from his brother’s wedding.

Having a small bridal part, custom hangers were created for the mother’s as well!

Jillian’s dress was hand made for her! it was beyond stunning. The wind was being a little crazy but caused for the bottom to fluff out beautifully.

These moments make our job perfect.

Mark and Jill not only wrote their own vows, but decided to share love letters before their first look.

Jill had two amazing men in her life to help her grow into the woman she is today. On her way to her to see her soon to be husband, she spent time with each man alone for Daddy/Daughter First
Looks. Dad’s always have the best expressions.

So much love… and the realization his little girl is about to be a married woman.

Walking away from the men who raised her towards the man who she will grow old with. Deep in her thoughts, Jill was the picture perfect bride. No posing… just in her own thoughts for a few
moments.

First looks have all the perfect components to create beautiful moments! Jill and Mark did not fail! Their time together was perfect… tears, laughs, hugs and of course a bottle of champagne to
celebrate.

Before the ceremony wasn’t all seriousness… we stole the sweet couple for a few portraits and then met back up with their bridal party.

Smiles for everyone!

The colors of her bridal bouquet were stunning! Swan Florist did an amazing job.

The week before their wedding, we received a concerned text as the weather forecast was calling for an 80% chance of rain and everything was planned for outdoors (except the reception).
Backup plans were made to move the ceremony inside to the reception area. However, the weather was in favor of Jill and Mark’s wedding day! Being an outdoor couple, they were ecstatic
their would be wed outside, surrounded by family, friends, and of course nature’s beauty.

Jillian’s walk down the aisle started with her step father escorting her….

till half way down, she met up with her father.

Mark and Jill’s ceremony was fill with laughter, ear to ear smiles, and a few tears of joy.

Love grows over time and needs to be watered to keep growing. To start their marriage, the couple choose to water a plant they would care for as a symbol of their marriage.

Majority of the day, we enjoyed beautiful weather as the sky was partially cloudy and a warm spring breeze (with a few unwanted gushes of wind occasionally). During the ceremony, a
thunderstorm started brewing in the background. As we were finishing the family formals, the storm was moving in and started to sprinkle. No longer able to hold in it’s water, as Jill and Mark
were announced into their reception the sky opened up! The storm lasted about an hour but left behind a remarkable sunset!

And no wedding on Star Wars day would be complete without a few light sabers!

Jill and Mark, thank you so much for trusting us to capture your wedding day (even if you didn’t have any choice).  The love you share for each other was demonstrated all day… from your hand-written vows to having family fly in town.  Our hope is you will cherish these photos and share them with your future grandchildren.

Welcome to the married kids club!!!
