Spring time in Cincinnati comes with its own unique challenges. The pollen, the rain, the unpredictable temperature. In exchange for the minor discomforts, you also get the beauty of flowers and trees blooming everywhere while the green grass is growing. During this time, the world just comes alive from the winter. What better place to see all the amazing scenes nature has to offer than enjoying the beautiful spring time sights at Cincinnati Nature Center. Being in a space that offered the spring time rejuvenation help make Kenny and Jonthan’s wedding day even more stunning than it already was.
We’re not going to lie, the weather was a little on the iffy side the first part of the day. Rain loomed over the day and eventually the sky opened up… just in time for portraits. But this did not put a damper on the day for Kenny and Jonathan. This amazing couple took the change in weather in strides, by indulging us in quickly going back outside when there were a few moments here and there when the rain subsided.
As we reflected on Kenny and Jonathan’s day, the part that stood out the most to us was their ceremony. As much as we love First Looks and our couple’s portrait time, their ceremony was perfect. The emotions, the happy tears, big smiles, and, our course, their quirkiness shone through.
These two choose to walk down the aisle arm in arm to show their commitment to one another for the start of the next chapter of their already 8-year relationship. Prior to the ceremony, Kenny and Jonathan wrote letters to one another. During the ceremony, the letters were read out loud for each one to hear. Listening to the words they wrote for another, shared deep insight into how they see their soulmate and one thing is for sure, these two are meant for one another.
Almost every wedding photographer we’ve ever spoken with loves a stunning engagement ring, and Kenny’s was a show stopper. However, on their wedding day, Jonathan gave her something more precious to wear. He gifted Kenny his grandmother’s ring. During the ceremony, for the ring exchange, many tears were wiped away by guest as he added the ring to Kenny’s finger.
This beautiful couple wanted to be married surrounded by a very intimate group of people whom were extremely important in their lives. They choose to keep their guest list small in order to be able to provide a luxury 5-star experience from a plated dinner to cupcakes served to their guests’ tables directly. Not to mention, a little more time to actually interact with everyone and party the evening way on the dance floor.
Kenny and Jonathan, congrats on the start of your next phase of life together. The wedding day may have started a little wet, but it ended up being a very beautiful day. Everyone who was there for you two truly showed the great support you two have to create the future of your dreams. Keep the laughter and humor in your marriage, as this is will be your superpower. Thank you for allowing us to be able to capture this amazing day.
