Imagine tying the knot surrounded by vibrant aquatic life, making your special day truly one-of-a-kind. Among all the stunning venues in our wonderful area, a unique wedding at the Newport Aquarium steals hearts with its charm. It’s a magical setting for a wedding, indeed offering an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
On a overall beautiful spring day, Kate and Brandon said “I do” in front of their favorite people from across the country. Their love story began in college as friends and blossomed over time. After graduating college, navigating a long-distance relationship, and launching their careers, they kicked off their next chapter in April with a unique wedding at the Newport Aquarium.
During our final meeting with them, we discussed the flow of their big day. Knowing how much they valued capturing portraits around the aquarium, we suggested the best ways to maximize their time at the venue. Initially, Kate planned to get dressed at the aquarium. Drawing from our experience with weddings at this venue, we recommended arriving in their wedding attire. This allowed them more time for photos before the ceremony while enjoying a relaxed time together.
Kate and Brandon opted for a First Look, a moment we absolutely adore. It’s always a special, emotional experience, even for the most reserved couples. The joy on Brandon’s face when he first saw his bride was unforgettable. Their first private moments together set a calm but fun tone for the entire day.
Undoubtedly timing is crucial on wedding days, and sunset is one of the most magical times for photos. Kate and Brandon’s ceremony was perfectly timed, ending just as the sun began to set. Therefore, we whisked them outside to Newport on the Levee for stunning sunset photos with the Cincinnati skyline in the background. Being a quiet Sunday evening, they were able to savor the first moments of being husband and wife without the crowds of people.
What we loved most about Kate and Brandon was their fresh take on wedding traditions. They chose to focus on creating a unique and memorable experience for their guests rather than sticking to all the traditional formalities. Their reception was designed for family and friends to explore and enjoy the Newport Aquarium. Guests were treated to a light dinner and cupcakes, so they could spent the rest of the evening mingling and exploring the exhibits.
A unique feature of their wedding was the thoughtful guest favors. Before the day, Kate hand-crocheted small aquatic animals, and Brandon helped stuff them. Each guest left with a new little friend to remind them of the couple’s love. Handmade gifts like these are truly special, showing the time and care put into creating something memorable (and yes, as a result we brought home two new friends).
Kate and Brandon, thank you for trusting us to capture your beautiful and serene wedding day. Everything went smoothly, and seeing you two radiate joy, love, and excitement in such a beautiful setting was incredible. Your day was a perfect reflection of who you are, and it was an honor to capture the start of your new chapter together. Without a doubt we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will do in your life together.
